Hi,

I have two citizenships, and one of them is US.

Given my background and upbringing I have a much stronger advantage to apply as an international student. However I am confused whether I should:

a- State my US citizenship within the application and risk getting pooled as US applicant. (my profile does not compete with the Ivy league, investment banker, etc. that apply to the top 5 unis.)

b- Not stating my US citizenship and risk the fact that admissions might run a background check and forfeit my application assuming I was concealing information.

I have been told that option (b) is not as risky as it seems, seeing that if they need to clarify that issue they will contact me. And since I can defend my status as an international applicant, I would not be too concerned if they do question it. However I do not feel comfortable about concealing any information in my apps.

What is your advice? Is it too risky to go for option b?

Thank you!
