Just an FYI that Wharton has sent out a large batch of interview invitations over the past 2 days based on feedback I have received from our consultants. Congratulations and best of luck to the many applicants who have received interview invitations.
If you would like to conduct a mock interview in advance of your admissions interview, don’t hesitate to contact us directly. All of our consultants have conducted admissions interviews on behalf of top business schools, so we know what questions you will be asked and how to best respond to those questions to most efficiently mitigate your weaknesses, play up your strengths and seal any potential leaks in your application story. Additionally, yes, we do have consultants with Wharton admissions committee experience as well.
Best of luck with your applications and interviews!
Sincerely,
David Petersam DPetersam@admissionsconsultants.com

As many of you know, today (Thursday, Feb 19) is the last day that Wharton will be extending R2 interview invitations. I have received a few phone calls and emails about this over the past week, so I thought I'd share the following with every one here:
The timing of the interview invitation makes no difference, i.e. you are just as competitive if you were the first applicant to receive an invitation or the last one.
To put a positive spin out for those applicants who will receive a decision that their R2 applications have been rejected, at least this still leaves you with time to consider additional schools and a few weeks to work on those schools' applications.
You can feel free to contact us if you would like us to review your application and provide you with a 'ding analysis, i.e. the reasons you were rejected and what, if anything, you can do differently for next year (including positioning strategy that you have several months to work on) to be a more competitive re-applicant.
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,

Hi and thanks for your inquiry.
Any idea about timing for R3 interview invitations?
I believe they began going out recently and will for another week or two. (I'm pretty sure I've received emails from our consultants informing me about clients with interview invitations from Wharton. I'd honestly have to go back through the *many* emails I receive each day to verify though.) According to my notes, the last day by which the interview must be completed is May 6, which makes sense given the notification deadline of May 20.
Best of luck with your applications!
Sincerely,

I just received the invitation. Is this somewhat late? What sort of ballpark odds am I facing with a 3R interview?
Thanks! |

Congrats on the invite. I wouldn’t say the interview is late. According to my earlier post, this is about the time I expected Wharton to finish sending out invitations. (May 18, on the other hand, would be very late.)
I’m not the official spokesperson for Wharton and, therefore, am a bit uncomfortable answering such questions in a public forum where my responses can be easily misinterpreted and not easily clarified like they could be in a phone conversation. This said, however, Wharton does admit applicants in the third round (just like HBS, Stanford and the other top schools) and the fact you received an interview means they certainly like you. If you perform well on the interview you’ll have an offer from Wharton in your hands in about a month.
Sincerely,

| Thanks for your prompt reply, Mr. Petersam. From what I have heard, Wharton started sending out invitations on 4/1, and dings started going out on 4/14. I guess I just barely made it. |

Thanks for the follow up qgyu. I only know what gets passed on to me by our consultants and clients. I haven't heard of any dings yet and I've been hearing about Wharton interview invites for about the past 2 weeks. I'd just like to add that the timing of the interview invitation within each round has no impact on your chances.
Best of luck with your interview!
