I've been a software engineer for about 7 years now, but am realizing that this is not my calling. I've been back in college now for about a year now majoring in biology and computer science (to finish my degree) and hope to be finished in about 3 years. When I was in college 7 years ago before I dropped out, I had a very low gpa due to not trying. I'm motivated now, and am making decent grades, but my gpa is still below a 3.00. I think I can probably get it up to a 3.00 before I graduate, but I'm wondering if my past mistakes will haunt me when it comes time to apply for schools. Should I even try?

Hi Ichabooka and welcome to AdmissionsBoards!

If this is what you really want, don't give up. If you can pull your grades up, keep them up, demonstrate who you are now and have really good essays and interviews, it's possible.
