| Is it possible for a medical school to offer admission pending completion of courses that are unrelated to the pre-requisites generally required for med school? |

Hi Sasou70 and welcome to AdmissionsBoards!
I believe med schools admit college students in the beginning/middle of their senior year just as colleges do for high school students. If you complete the requirements before matriculation, you should be fine. |

I am a 22 year old college graduate that majored in bio pre-med at florida a&m university. I gradauted magna cum laude with a 3.4 gpa. I have lots of extracurricular activities and a strong passion for a career in the medical field. I have taken the princeton review to better improve my MCATS but am still less than confident on doing well. I am retaking it in a week but i don't know if my score will increase enough to get me in to a good medical school. As of now I am only scoring an 11 on the practice test. I was wondering if its best to just apply to post-baccs or should i still apply to medical school via amcas? what are my chances? wanting to be a doctor, medforme 525

hi medfor,
Now to the contrary to what other people may say, do not sweat the 3.4. That is a good grade. It may not be the best but you have got this far. Medical school will require a lot more out of you. Be prepared to feel like an idiot because it will make everyone do so. In all actuality, it doesn't take a genius to get through medical school, just a lot of hard work and dedication. If you would ask any medical school student, they would most likely say that the work is tough but it is do-able. So, I say hang in there, you will get in. |

| I am a 15 year old boy doing O'levels from pakistan according to the Cambridge Curriculum. I have planned to do A'Levels after this. My subjects include the sciences. Can you please explain to me in brief what grades I need to achieve and what additional exams I have to give for an entry into a medical school in USA. |

I hve a question, after doing research and talking to medical doctors i was told that students in majors such as mine, which is Philsophy, like English, Psychology,History and etc get accepted more versus biology or chemistry majors because they don't just want a good gpa but also a well-round individual whose great with people, is this true in all cases and also does how you do in med school determine what residency you get after you graduate?
