Hello Sara! I have a quick question. In your opinion, what would be a realistic GPA for a transfer student to the school of commerce at UVA? I have attended Piedmont Va Community College here in Charlottesville ( which transfers students into UVA very often) for a yr and my gpa for two semesters has been slightly over a 3.7. What do you think? I have lots of experiences/credentials involving activities around the world and recommendations from the Dean of our school and a proffessor at UVA. So i feel as if I would be ok in that sense! Whats your opinion Happy Holidays to all of you and thank you!

Hi Mike and thanks for your inquiry.
Can you kindly post it on the Ask AdmissionsConsultants thread? Sara is becoming busy and she will assume that other threads are not requesting her advice.
Best regards,

Hi Mike,
As long as you are pursuing a strong curriculum at Piedmont, I would consider a 3.7 to be a solid GPA for a transfer candidate to a selective school like UVA. It seems from the information that you provided that you should have an excellent chance for admission. Your biggest concerns right now should be maintaining your grades and putting together an excellent application.
Have a happy holiday!
Sara
P.S. Please contact AdmissionsConsultants if you would like one of our consultants to assist you with your transfer application.

Hey I am also interested in transferring to UVA's school of commerce. My GPA is low, but I do go to a very competetive college. I am sophomore and applying for the fall semester of my junior year. My stats are as follows.
College GPA (College of William and Mary): 3.3 High School GPA: 3.74 Great EC Brother graduated top of his class from UVA In-state student Currently taking 17 credit hrs (5 econ classes) and should have between a 3.8-4.0 this semester.
I wanna know if I will get deferred, accepted, or straight up rejected when I hear back in May. |
