Posted - 08/13/2008 : 18:10:40 I attend a major ivy league (princeton, yale, or harvard) and major in chemistry. my undergrad sci gpa is 2.8. i have 3 strong recommendation letters and 2 manuscripts-in-progress. i wanna apply for a phd. i probably have avg gre scores. do i have any chance at berkeley stanford northwestern etc. or any ucal school? where should i apply? |

While I do not suggest schools for people to apply to due to my level of expertise, I do see the challenge in applying to the schools you are targeting in regards to your GPA. You also need to have strong experience and extracirriculars in order to mitigate your GPA. If you are able to do this and with some studying, score higher on the GRE than average, I think your chances will be better than you might think.
