The University of Texas at Dallas School of Management has just released its own annual ranking of the top 100 business schools -- and no, UTD itself is not high on the list. In fact, only one Texas b-school -- UT Austin's McCombs School of Business -- made the top ten.
The UTD rankings, which have been conducted since 1999, size up business schools from a scholar's point of view. They rank schools by research productivity, a measure arrived at by tracking the number of articles published by faculty members in peer-reviewed journals over a five-year period.
This year's top ten ranked schools are:
Wharton
Harvard
NYU - Stern
Columbia
MIT - Sloan
Chicago GSB
UT Austin - McCombs
UCLA - Anderson
Northwestern - Kellogg
U. of Michigan - Ross
UTD's School of Management found itself at position 33.

Hofstra definitely because its so close to Wall Street and has big alumni community there as well.
Also Hofstra has the biggest academic trading room in the world..
